Litespace is LANTAC approved which means that Litespace automatically conforms to building regulations. The Local Authority simply assesses matters relating to ground conditions, fire performance, radon gas and cavity trays.
LANTAC stands for Local Authority National Type Approval Confederation. Litespace comes complete with LANTAC Type Approval. LANTAC is the only organisation in the UK that specialises in developing fast track routes for standard buildings to be taken through regulatory procedures.
A major benefit of LANTAC Type Approval is that your building regulation application is processed more quickly and, more importantly, you will not be required to build any differently than to the details shown on the type approved plans which will be supplied with your Litespace.
A consistent interpretation of building regulations
A fast track through approval procedures in England and Wales (building notice only needed giving 2 days notice before site work commences).
A single point of contact with Building Control Confidence in a design checked by LANTAC. Provision of pre-approved plans and section drawings to aid submission. Any checks made by Building Control officers confined to site related issues
The local authority will not check Litespace’s approved plans except for any site-related issues such as drains and foundations.
Details of the certificate are placed upon a register that is made available to all local authorities and is also published in the public domain. A copy of this certificate will be supplied to our trade customers in our Litespace Technical Product Guide.

PLEASE NOTE
LANTAC covers all building control departments in England and Wales. For Scotland, apply using the building permit route and in Northern Ireland apply for Building Regulations approvals.
LANTAC only deals with Building Regulations. Whilst the majority of Litespace installations will be exempt from planning controls, it is always advisable to discuss the proposal with the Local Authority Planning Officer.
